german artist visa

I'm moving to Berlin!

Hello, it’s been a minute (or like 2 years) -
I’ve got some big news: I’m moving to Berlin, Germany to join my partner after a year and a half of doing long distance.

Last month, I ran an indiegogo campaign to raise funds for the costs of moving my studio/business and for my visa application. Thanks to 246 people, it was a great success!

indiegogo

What does this mean for my shop?
It means that I’ll be closing it from March 18, 2020 until I’m able to get my freelancer visa in Germany, along with a tax number, etc, etc. Ideally, that will happen in June or July, but as of now, I do not have an appointment scheduled (they’ve been booked up for a while).
Once I’m settled in and have international shipping figured out, I’ll begin operating internationally again.

I’ve committed to updating indiegogo followers on my progress, but I’ll share some of it here too. The process of moving internationally is complicated, and I think it’ll be nice to document it, in case it helps another American artist planning to move abroad.
Bis später, y’all,
Grace
